About the Services
These services are provided exclusively to clients who appoint an authorized representative pursuant to a limited power of attorney.
The limited power of attorney authorizes the handling of specified personal, financial, and information management matters on the client's behalf, including obtaining records, corresponding with organizations, disputing inaccurate information, and submitting complaints to regulatory bodies.
This includes communication with privacy departments, financial institutions, and consumer reporting agencies, all of which permit individuals to act through an authorized representative under a valid power of attorney for the purpose of:
-
Requesting records and consumer reports;
-
Raising questions and concerns;
-
Disputing inaccurate information; and
-
Submitting correction requests.
Services are limited to administrative and factual assistance, including:
-
Collecting and organizing documents;
-
Requesting records from organizations and consumer reporting agencies;
-
Drafting factual correspondence under the client's instructions;
-
Requesting corrections to consumer reports;
-
Submitting complaints to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and other regulatory agencies;

-
Managing matters expressly authorized under each client's limited power of attorney.
Services are administrative, informational, and representative in nature and are provided solely under the authority granted by each client's limited power of attorney. Legal advice, legal opinions, and legal representation are not provided.
Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), individuals have a statutory right to challenge an organization's handling of personal information and may appoint an authorized representative to exercise those rights on their behalf.
In matters involving consumer reports, consumers may appoint an authorized representative under a valid limited power of attorney to obtain records, dispute inaccuracies, and request corrections from consumer reporting agencies on their behalf.
